stuck at wmp11 welcome screen
2 Gb of ram, 500G SATAII drive... I have all the latest from Microsoft update and also sound card drivers from Realtek / Asus. Running WMP11 and it hangs and "skips" when playing mp3's... any suggestions. I have searched the forum and see several similar problems but no solutions. Thanks in advance. Allen.

I am having a problemn when WMP11 plays ANY audio (CD, mp3, etc) - the audio randomly stutters and skips throughout playback. This is NOT a hardware issue - as several other apps play the same media sources without problems (iTunes, Quicktime, RealPlayer, etc). Does anyone have any ideas?

Ah sorry to keep double posting, know it's a bad showing of me but another post on the page triggered a memory - whenever WMP11 starts up it takes a while to whereby windows media player functions fine whilst playing back mp3's, however as soon as I browse my hard drive using explorer the tracks begin to skip.

I upgraded (unintentionally) to WMP11 and the 320 still works for ripped music, video, etc. When I try to play a purchased music file (from the old MSN Music, Walmart, or Urge) the DSM loads the details of the track (time, title, etc.) then sits there for a few seconds and skips to the next track.

Media Player 11 is designed to prevent playing of copy protected audio discs (It is illegal to describe them as Compact Discs). It allegedly can see through copy protection circumvention schemes such as AnyDVD, but I haven't personally verified that. WMP11 has much Digital Rights Management stuff in it.

WMP11 initiall found only about 3000 of my more than 15k tunes. A little playing around with manually adding folders and I think I've found a pattern. It just skips over other ones.
